Book Ministry—With Heavy Hearts
Dear friends of The 1687 Foundation,
With heavy hearts, we are writing to share the news of the passing of our Vice-President of the Book Ministry, Renee Akaka. Renee served at the helm of the book ministry for the past 15 years.
In August, however, she lost her battle with cancer after a 5-year fight. Renee touched many lives during her time on this Earth and she will be greatly missed. We are grateful that she is now healed and with our beloved Savior.
Renee’s favorite verse, and she lived it everyday until the very last, was: “This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24.
As we continue forward, we want to ensure you that the book ministry will function as it always has. We want to do everything we can to provide hope and encouragement to those of you who are on the battle front.
Debbie Ricker has taken over Renee’s duties. Debbie has been with The Foundation since 2012 and has served in all capacities, most recently as Executive Manager.
Please keep Renee’s family and our Foundation family in your thoughts and your prayers during this difficult time.
In His Service,
The 1687 Foundation
