Our Goal
The 1687 Foundation Retreat Program exists to give hope and encouragement by providing free accommodations and services to other 501(c)(3) organizations who serve others. Our goal is to help other 501(c)(3) organizations to further serve their mission. Our program provides a setting where the broken pieces in people's lives can begin to be restored.
Who We Serve
We team with other 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations to sponsor Retreat events. It is our privilege to serve our veterans and active service members and their families, police, fire/EMS and first responders and families, foster care and adoption families, special-needs individuals and their families and those who advocate for pro-life.
If you are such an organization, we would love to engage with you. Please fill out our Retreat Application form!
We gift the facilities and accommodations free of charge to serve the needs of these retreats in a breathtaking ranch setting near Abilene, Texas.
How We Started
In 2014 The 1687 Foundation Retreat Program hosted its very first retreat.
That event was the culmination of a God-whispered vision that the founders, Patti and Danny "Woody" Wood acted upon. Patti and Woody wanted to share the beauty and peace of God's creation at their beloved ranch with others who might be healed, renewed, and restored there.
Like the movie, Field of Dreams, together they believed if they built it, the right ones would find their way there.
Since that first event, hundreds of people's lives have been uplifted and often transformed by their retreat experience. In fact, the outpouring of need for restoration and healing by so many led to the addition of The 1687 Hunting & Fishing Ministry.
Note: The 1687 Foundation is currently blessed by Retreat bookings until 2025 and we are not reviewing applications at this time. However, please give us your contact information on the Request Application form and we will let you know when we are able to accept future applications.
